About The Backyard Apothecary
My Story
I have a deep appreciation for simplicity in our ever-chaotic world. It's crucial as humans that we cultivate an awareness of and gratitude for the fundamental gifts the Earth bestows upon us. This involves not only respecting all forms of life, from the land and its resources to the myriad of plants, animals, and insects, but also sharing the wisdom that can help us protect the sanctity of life. I firmly believe that everyone should acquire knowledge about the Earth, its abundance, and a profound understanding of the Earth's blessings & the means to impart this wisdom to future generations.
Everything I create is what I have personally gathered or grown in Northwestern Ontario Forests (Zone 3b) and within by own backyard & home. I want to share these natural herbs/tinctures/salves/oils with people and I hope they bring you as much joy as these things do for me! It's essential to acknowledge that we are currently gathered on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe and Métis people of Treaty Three. They are the original stewards of this land, and it is our duty to respect and honor their enduring connection to it.
I am not a licensed naturopathic doctor-please always consult a healthcare professional before consuming herbs. Most importantly, always do your own research!

Services
There is a wide range of wild and ethically harvested plants and herbs. Each item is handpicked, processed, and packaged by myself with love ! I love the idea of simplicity in the busy world we live in. As Humans we should appreciate the basic things the earth provides for us and respect all living things including the land & it’s resources, plants, animals, insects, etc. Always consult a health professional before consuming herbal products. Please be extra cautious when pregnant & breastfeeding, have underlying medical conditions, allergies, or if you are under 18 years of age.

More products will become available throughout the spring & summer 2024 growing season. Situated in Zone 3b, in Northwestern Ontario, I am growing and foraging plants all year round. Despite this, due to the sub-arctic climate the outdoor growing season generally begins in the end of May/June.
Packaging will always be environmentally conscious; packaging is eco-friendly and consists of recycled materials.
